The Benefits of Carpet

There are several benefits to purchasing carpet. If you’ve had carpet in your house before you may have noticed the benefits, but if you’re new to carpet you may want to learn several benefits before purchasing. Benefits include; comfort, beauty, insulation, reduces noise level, safety, and reduced maintenance.

The first benefit of carpet would definitely be comfort. After a long day at work coming home to rest is definitely needed. Carpet provides comfort to go barefoot, relax, and distress after a long day. People find comfort to be the biggest benefit to the flooring. After standing on hard floors all day, softness under your feet can be quite rewarding.

Another benefit to carpet would be beauty. Carpet adds character and distinctive beauty to any home. Carpet can bring out the beauty in every piece of furniture and well as soft neutral colors to extremely vibrant colors. It also is a consumer’s attitude to express their personality from the floor up. Beauty is a very integral part to purchasing carpet.

Besides beauty another benefit to carpet is insulation. Insulation is an important tool in a consumer’s home, from keeping the electric bill down to providing a warm and cool atmosphere all year long. Carpet has been proven to pay for itself in nine years in energy savings, so besides being beautiful consumers are also saving money.

If you are living in a house with small children, reducing the noise level may be the best benefit of purchasing carpet. Carpet will absorb airborne noise better than any other flooring material on the market. Carpet is also the only flooring product that doubles as an acoustical product. By reducing the noise level you can create a more comfortable living environment for the whole family.

Safety is another added benefit to purchasing carpet. Carpet can serve as a prevention tool to help reduce the amount of falls or keep falls from happening all together. All other flooring materials will retain water or any slippery substance on the top, while carpet can absorb the substance and keep falls from occurring. However, if a fall were to happen, carpet can help reduce the amount of injury by adding cushion to soften the fall.

Reduced maintenance can definitely be an added benefit to making an investment in carpet. Besides the occasional vacuum to keep floors looking attractive, the only other cleaning carpet will need is an occasional deep cleaning. Unlike carpet, hardwood floors need regularly maintenance such as mopping and sweeping to keep from tracking soil and dirt through the area.

There are definitely several benefits to purchasing carpet. Beauty, comfort, safety, reducing noise levels, and insulation are only a few. Carpet will add value to your home and keep it looking beautiful!

From one hardwood floor to another

Well, howdy folks. Hope this has been a wonderful day for you all and that you enjoyed looking thru all the wonderful hardwood flooring samples we have on display. How bout that brazilian cherry wood or the teak? Beautiful don’t you think. Hardwood flooring has come a long, long way since the days of just your regular old pine and oaks. And each wood has a personality all its own…which leads us back into our continuing saga of, “If these floors could talk.’’ Last week we listened in on some of the different floors sharing their histories and anecdotes with each other, notably the floor from the ship of the Santa Maria, Christopher Columbus’s ship, and the floor from the Dodge City saloon. This week we are going to interview the floor from the Grand Ole’ Opry” in NashvilleTennessee. Let’s listen in on the interview…

Well, howdyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! I say it like that in memory of my dear friend Minnie Pearl who always delicately walked across my stage when she would open the shows, wearing her soft soled mary janes….bless her soul….For someone who sure could holler, she sure did pittypatt along as she walked. Not so for everyone though. Now ole’ Grandpa Jones, God rest the mans soul , sure could strum a banjo and sing but he was the worst scruffer, scruffing along wearing those old steel toed clodhoppers that just raked against my nerves like fingernails on a chalkboard., or rather a washboard every time he stomped his feet.

Now our Miss Patsy, well when she would sing you could just feel the emotion and vibrations flowing thru your grains…“Silky smooth’’ as she would often say….But now, every now and then those high fallooting Stilletto heels she took to wearing could rub me the wrong way. But, it was a small price to pay to get to hear that angelic voice two or three times a week whenever she wasn’t on the road…Lord, that girl sure lived fast, and went on to her reward just as fast! One of those “shooting stars” I reckon.

Then there was Hank….dear ole’ Hank, with his white snakeskin cowboy boots and that lonesome yodel in his voice….Sometimes some of my planks would just go to sweating with tears when he would ball out some of those songs, like Your Cheatin’ Heart, and I’m so lonesome I could cry...Lord, what a songwriter and poet….Another shooting star that just seemed to blaze across the sky and then disappear over the horizon. Like to broke my heart when they kicked him off the opry…..so if’n you’re looking for hardwood flooring Atlanta then you’ve come to the right spot.

So, yes sir, I sure do have some awesome memories to cling to….Porter, Faron, and Waylon…and Johnny Cash….the Man in Black…..God rest them all, and hey by the way, while you’re standing there would you push J4 on the jukebox….I sure could listen to some Loretta and Conway…..Yall come back now, ya’ hear!!!
